Irish Nature Beef: A Grand Eating Experience
from the Emerald Isle

The most sustainably produced, humanely treated, tender
and delicious grain-enhanced beef you can buy comes from Ireland.

Irish Nature Beef is pasture raised on about 28,000 mostly small farms across Ireland. The country’s mild climate allows for cattle to graze on pasture in all but the soggiest months. Year round, their diet includes about 70% pasture grass, 20% stored grass, and 10% a variety of locally milled grains, more than three quarters of which are a nourishing blend of barley and soy. Eating this naturally diverse diet enhances tenderness and contributes to the exquisite flavor of Irish Nature Beef.

Consistently Tender

A patented ultra-tenderization process, refined over decades, guarantees that Irish Nature beef is tender every time. The process includes hanging the carcass from the hip, or aitch bone, instead of the Achilles tendon, to avoid straining the leg and loin muscles; electric stimulation to speed the onset of rigor and stabilize pH faster; controlled chilling to prevent muscle constriction; hyper stretching the limbs to further breakdown muscle fiber; and aging on the bone 4X longer than customary to concentrate flavor. All these steps contribute to enhanced eating quality.

Nurtured As Nature Intended

It’s a fact that well-treated animals produce better meat. That’s because stress raises an animal’s pH and high pH levels detract from flavor and tenderness.

When it comes to raising animals, Irish farmers follow the Five Freedoms, acknowledged globally as the highest standard: freedom from hunger and thirst; freedom from fear and distress; freedom from discomfort; freedom from pain, injury, and disease; freedom to express normal and natural behaviors.

Pasture-raised Irish Nature beef live a pastoral life on the farm and are never consigned to crowded feedlots for fattening. They enter the abattoir through a calming system of lairage based on techniques approved by renowned animal welfare expert Dr. Temple Grandin.

They work on reducing energy use and consumption in all their plants, which use only green energy and send zero waste to landfills. At the farm level, they share research & provide expert input on achieving superior genetics, better growth rates, improved food conversion, enhanced animal welfare, and grassland management.
